No mask in Hungary, the border is fully open again – latest COVID-19 numbers
Altogether 59 patients died of a Covid-related illness in the past 24 hours, while 1,387 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.
So far 6,397,623 people have received a first jab, while 6,176,191 have been double-jabbed. Fully 3,822,108 Hungarians have received a booster shot.
The number of active infections has declined to 126,009, while
hospitals are treating 2,766 Covid-19 patients, 114 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.
Since the first outbreak, 1,807,285 have been registered with the virus, while
44,495 deaths have been recorded.
Fully 1,636,781 people have made a recovery.
Almost all restrictions lifted
From Monday, masks longer be worn in the enclosed spaces that were previously required, i.e. on public transport or in shops.
All restrictions that made the use of a domestic service subject to the requirement of an immunity card will be lifted.
Restrictions on events will be abolished, no longer requiring an immunity certificate for sporting events, cultural events, music and dance events, and outdoor events with more than 500 people.
Restrictions on entry into Hungary will also be lifted.

Hospitals and health services can also return to normal operations. New cases of coronavirus will be treated in designated hospitals, operations and treatments postponed due to the epidemic will continue to be carried out by hospitals and hospital vaccination centres will continue to operate.
